Every project we take on falls into one of these six categories. We don't subcontract. We don't try to be everything to everyone. We do masonry — and Nilson has been doing it across Greater Boston for over 18 years.
Whether it's a freestanding garden wall, a structural retaining wall, or a decorative facade, we build with full-depth natural stone. Every piece is hand-set. Every joint is mortared properly. The result lasts decades, not seasons.
Most paver problems start in the base. We dig deep, compact in lifts, and use proper edge restraints — so the path you walk on this fall will still be flat ten years from now. We work with Belgard, Techo-Bloc, Cambridge, and natural stone.
Concrete is unforgiving — get the mix wrong, the base wrong, or the timing wrong, and you'll see cracks within a year. We pour to spec, finish properly, and seal what should be sealed. Stamped, broom-finish, or smooth — we do all three.
Your patio isn't just where the grill goes — it's where summers happen. We design and build patios that fit how you actually use your yard, with proper drainage, real edge work, and material choices that age well. From 200 sq. ft. to 2,000.
Steps take more abuse than any other masonry feature on a property. Foot traffic, frost heave, salt, ice — they all compound. We build steps that stay level for decades: full-depth treads, proper drainage, and risers tied into the wall, not just stacked.
A retaining wall has one job: hold back earth without failing. That requires proper engineering — drainage behind the wall, batter on the face, deadmen on tall walls. We've built dozens of them across the region, from 2-ft. garden walls to 8-ft. structural walls.
"We build it the way we'd build it for our own family — because that's the only way we know how."
